About Me

You aren't the problem. You are navigating one.
My commitment to this work is personal. When I was in my late teens, someone reached out and supported me during a critical time in my life. That experience changed my trajectory and made me realize how much it matters to have a supportive ally when things feel heavy. I do this work because I know firsthand the difference that kind of support makes.
What 30 Years of Experience Taught Me
I started my professional journey in the early 1990s. Since then, I’ve worked in youth shelters, residential programs, and special education schools. I’ve provided counseling in busy urban neighborhoods and quiet suburban homes. I’ve sat in clinical offices, but I’ve also spent years as part of an Elder Care team, sitting with seniors in their own living rooms.
What I’ve learned from working with such a wide range of people—from children in the court system to elders in their homes—is that everyone is navigating their own unique set of pressures. I’ve seen how life can overlap and become "too much," and I have learned that my job isn't to give you a lecture, but to be an ally who works with you find a way through.
How We’ll Work Together
Seeing the Full Picture
I don’t look at you in a vacuum. Your history, your job, and even your neighborhood all plays a part in how you're feeling. We’ll look at your whole environment to understand which stressors yours are to manage and which ones are just natural reactions to the world around you.
Managing the "Too Much"
When life hits you with multiple things at once—finances, health, family, and work—it’s easy to lose your sense of self. We’ll break those layers down together so you can focus on your well-being and your relationships without feeling completely overwhelmed.
Reclaiming Your Own Narrative
Society often tries to fit people into a specific "norm." If you move through the world differently—whether due to neurodivergence or other life experiences—you might feel like you’ve been handed a script that doesn't fit. We work to identify those old stories so you can decide who you actually want to be.
Getting Grounded First
If things feel like they are spiraling, we don't start with the deep past. Our first priority is to lower the "emotional temperature" in the present. We use real-world tools to get you steady and grounded so that long-term change and self-compassion actually have room to grow.
Focusing on What’s Already Working
You are the expert on your own life. Even in the middle of a hard time, there are moments when you managed to stand your ground or things felt a bit lighter. I help you find those moments of strength and use them as the blueprint for your future.
